Fascia is our connective tissue. It is like a fine, sticky, fluid-filled web that connects us from head to toe. Fascia surrounds our brain, our spine, all of our bones and joints, wraps around and innervates through our muscles, and holds our organs in place. Our fat is wrapped in fascia and our blood vessels and nerves run through fascia.
Every day activities impact our bodies and our fascia. As was said earlier, fascia is sticky, and it can acquire adhesions, where strands of fascia stick to each other or to other tissues (bones, organs, muscle, etc). Adhesions in fascia are similar to rats or knots in your hair. We have all seen what dread locks look like, imagine your fascia knotted and bound up, what would it do to your circulation, muscle activation, joint movement, posture, organ functioning, fat metabolism, lymph system?
With Fascial Restoration work, you will release adhesions and fascial distortions in the body, increase blood circulation and nerve innervation, improve muscle activation, tone and function, release restrictions that were misaligning the body, improve joint mobility and function, and improve your skin. With this comes relief from many of the aches and pains in our body such as headaches and migraines, inflammation, back pain, joint pain, TMJ, and so much more. Just as you will continue your Posture Alignment exercises at home, you will be shown how to continue your Fascial Release work on a regular basis at home as well.
